She was a Samaritan woman who came to draw water at the hottest time of the day. Something unusual, since most women went early in the morning when it was cooler. She may have been avoiding others, possibly because of shame or rejection.

But Jesus didn’t avoid her. He met her right where she was.

That day, everything changed.
